Product Reviews of BreathKey Keychain Breathalyzer - World's Smallest Breath Alcohol TesterProduct Review: Works well enough for peace of mind Summary: 4 Stars
The main reason I bought this gadget was to ensure that my BAC was zero the morning after a night of drinking. Although the accuracy is a little sketchy, it gives a good ballpark BAC and I trust it when it says zero, which is all the peace of mind I need. I don't recommend buying this so you can drink then drive, thinking you are under the legal limit. It's not accurate enough for that, not to mention that would just be a stupid plan!
Product Review: breathkey Summary: 5 Stars
I purchasd this breathkey and gave to my friend who drinks and drives. I have always worried about his driving with his children and anyone else on the road. He blew a .18, which is over double the legal limit to drive. It has been a few months now and he has done much better about driving drunk. Its a small cost to pay to maybe save a life.

if you like breathalyzers and you want one you can rely on, do not buy this product, buy a real full size breathalyzer. trust me, just because its small and it fits on your keychain does not mean this product is worth it. ive used it side by side with a professional breathalyzer; the results were dramatic. the breathkey was always under the correct result. if you purchase this product DO NOT use it as a means of deciding whether or not you should be driving. it is a novelty item, like all other keychain breathalyzers.
Product Review: comes in handy Summary: 4 Stars
I decided it was time to buy a breathalyzer after hearing a horror story from one of my clients (i am a hairdresser and hear quite a lot) about her brother-in-law meeting a friend in need at a local watering hole to console him. Her brother-in-law was not a drinker, nor ever drank or driven. During the meeting, he consumed only two drinks, and ate a full dinner. Because the friend in need was too drunk to drive, brother-in-law figured he'd take the friend in need back to his house, less than a mile away. After pulling out of the restaraunt, a policeman pulled them over, and the interaction led to sobriety tests, then ultimately arrest! Brother-in-law's first offense ever, even though he blew the limit, resulted in 5 days in jail and over seven thousand dollars and probation. First offense people. So, after hearing that story, I jumped online and did a little research, and although I didnt realize how small and simple it was at the time,(about the size of a key ring fob)I ultimately chose this breathalyzer based on reviews, and the price. I like that it uses the same technology that the police use in thier breathalyzer. When I first opened it I was suprised that I had payed almost seventy dollars for it, and it was a little confusing how to use it at first. But with a little practice, it's not complicated at all. It really comes in handy for when I have people over and the next morning whomever had too much to drink and is still visibly tipsy, all I have to do is make them blow, and they retreat back to couch- and thus making the world a little safer at that moment. It really is surprising how much alcohol you can consume and still think you're fine. I would reccommend this as a personal assistant, but I wouldnt rely on it to judge whether or not to drive if it registers even half way to the limit. Another thing is that for it to be accurate the directions say to wait 20minutes till after your last drink to use. Then, if you want to check it again, you should wait another 20min between readings. This can be really annoying if you are in a group of peoplewho have been drinking. They all want to try it because they think its a toy! Do not allow this or it will ruin the calibration and you will have wasted all your money, and possible help from this lil' guy avoiding a catastrophe! by the way, read the instructions fully before use. This is a must, or you might become frustrated and think its not working properly. Don't give up, once you get it, its a breeze.
Product Review: daughter told me years later, it didn't work Summary: 2 Stars
My daughter is now a junior in college and I purchased this when she was a senior in high school and used it on a number of occasions and it didn't register alcohol at all. Once she was in college, she told me she had been drinking on those occasions in high school when it didn't register she had been drinking. I would not count on this being reliable for monitoring your teens.
