Product Reviews of Bravo-Fit Heat Sensitive Memory Foam Sleep MaskProduct Review: Not for stomach sleepers. Summary: 3 Stars
This is a very large mask. I thought it would be fine to sleep with, but I was wrong. I sleep on my stomach and this mask is so thick, it kinked my neck! Also when I layed on my side or stomach, no matter how tight I had it, the mask still let light in. If I slept on my back, this would be good, since I don't, I returned it. I would only reccomend this mask for someone who sleeps on thier back.
Product Review: Not for the large nosed Summary: 1 Stars
Bought this for my wife. She has a prominent nose and found light leaking in through the bottom of the mask. Also the mask had a peculiar odor. I returned it after one night.
Product Review: One of the better masks Summary: 4 Stars
I've tried lots of these masks (look at all my reviews for the others) - this is one of the better ones. It's large, but very comfy. Light leakage around the bottom can be helped a bit by stuffing the 'pockets' under the eyes with tissue paper.
Product Review: Pretty good, though a little bulky Summary: 4 Stars
I fly across the US twice a month, and bought this to help me get some sleep and not be distracted by the TVs and other things going on in the plane.
This mask blocks out all light, creating a totally dark environment, even if my eyes are open. The mask is very soft on my face and comfortable. Unlike the other reviewer, this doesn't bother my nose at all. I've gotten some great sleep (as great as possible on a plane) with this.
There are some downsides though:
1. Sometimes, it's HOT. I haven't figured this out, but sometimes I end up sweating like crazy around my face, which makes this very uncomfortable. Other times, it's fine. This is probably just my body being weird (?).
2. It's bulky. For me as a frequent traveler, I want to minimize the weight and the volume of everything I take with me. This mask, after my laptop, is the most bulky thing I'm flying with.
3. Wearing "over the ear" headphones with this mask is not comfortable for me; the straps for the mask interfere with the headphones.
4. There's not much padding on the sides, so a pillow is needed if you want to cuddle up with the airplane wall to sleep.
If you fly frequently, I highly recommend trying this product. It's only $20, which is nothing compared to the cost of 50,000 miles worth of tickets.
UPDATE August 2007: I bought the Brookstone version of this mask and have to say that while the Brookstone version is more compact, it doesn't block out the light as well as this mask, and the headband isn't as good as the Sharper Image product. My face gets hotter with the Brookstone version, too. I will keep flying with my Sharper Image mask.
Product Review: Product works as expected.. but.. Summary: 4 Stars
The product is implied to be the sharper image memory foam sleep mask. It even was shipped in the box with sharper image's name on it. But about a year ago I purchased one of these masks from Sharper Image for my daughter. And when I received my order from this retailer I noticed a slight difference. So I took my items and compared them to the previously purchased mask. The items are close but not exact. These items are knock-offs copied from the original design from Sharper Image. They work just as well so I did give them 4 stars. But these are not true sharper image masks. But for this price it is well worth it.. I purchased 2 of them which was still cheaper them the first one I bought even after shipping was added. So good product but not a true Sharper Image item.
