Product Review: 8995 is the best.
Summary: 5 Stars

I have been a Braun man for over 35 year's. The 8995 is the best electric razor I have ever used. If you have never tried one. Do yourself a favor and get it.

Product Review: 8995 shaver
Summary: 5 Stars

I have the previous model shaver, I believe its the 8895 or something to that effect and this one is pretty much the same thing except it has a neat lcd screen. I have to say the screen is really handy as it tells you if your foil is clean or not, how full your battery is, how long you have left and how long it takes to charge. This shaver would be a great gift as I gave it to my dad for fathers day. He loves it and hes not even technologically inclined, hes been using straight edges for years.

Product Review: A Better Braun
Summary: 5 Stars

The first thing to know about ANY electric shaver is that you really need to give your face about two weeks of daily shaving with only the electric to truly get a good idea of the performance of the device. The second is that it probably won't shave as close as a blade, despite any advertising the manufacturer might put out there. That said, THIS one will probably give a closer shave than any electric on the market.
I have used primarily electric shavers for about 35 years, and I've run the gamut from the basic Remington, to the new-fangled (for its day) Schick Flexamatic with its first-of-its-kind foil screen head, to the triple head Norelco. I replaced the Norelco about 9 years ago with a top rated Braun, liking what I read in the reviews, and what I saw when I looked at it in the stores, and was very pleased with its performance, as it gave me the closest electric shave I had ever experienced. Mind you, no electric will give you the baby's-butt-smooth closness that you would experience with a Gilette blade and Edge Gel, (my personal closeness benchmark) but that puppy came damn close!
So when it started to die after a long and faithful life, there was no question in my mind that another Braun was in my future. The only question was which. Not much thought went into that decision, as I figured why not get the top-of-the-line model with the auto-cleaning feature. Although it is rather pricy when compared to other brands of electrics out there, believe me, you get what you pay for.
Right out of the box (after a quick charge) the 8995 worked flawlessly, and I was a bit surprised to note that even though I had been using a Braun for years, it still took several days for my beard to get set up to the new foil head technology on this model. Once my personal break-in was over, I was blown away to find that this latest model was even better than my venerable 9 year old Braun which I had held in such high esteem. Even the tricky spots under the lower lip and at the base of the neck (where the hairs seem to grow in whatever direction they damn well feel like and even that seems to change on a daily basis)were no match for the contortionist-like head of the Braun, and the pop-up trimmer made short (no pun intended) work of the sideburn/mustache trimming tasks.
As far as the cleaning/charging base goes, this is one of the more interesting features. The shaver goes in upside down - in one piece, nothing to disassemble - on roughly a 30 degree angle, and an automatic cycle analyzes the cleanliness of the shaver. (though I have my theory that it pretty much assumes the level of cleanliness based on how long the shaver has been used since the last cleaning/charging cycle and determines a commensurate cleaning accordingly) Then, using an alcohol based cleaning solution in a replaceable cartridge, (the shaver comes with one - they say it lasts about 30 cleanings, and the cleaning/charging base LED will let you know when it's circling the drain) it flushes and cleans the shaver head, and then automatically dries it, in a total time of about an hour. While this is happening the shaver is also charged, too. It comes out in a like new state of clean, with a pleasant lemon scent to boot. And after cleaning, the first shave seems smoother, as if the cleaning solution left a lubricant on the foil. Braun claims no memory effect on the shaver's battery, so theoretically, you could charge and clean daily. Not a bad idea, especially for those with heavy daily beard growth. And if you're on the road, you can still clean it manually with the included brush, and refresh the battery by plugging the charging cord into the bottom of the shaver.
Mercedes, BMW, Porsche, Braun. German engineering. Guys, need I say more?

Product Review: A Christmas gift for my eldest son
Summary: 5 Stars

When I asked him what he thought of the Braun 8995 360 Complete Men's Shaver, my son answered that he loved it! Anything negative, I asked.
He answered "No".

Product Review: A Step Backwards For Bruan
Summary: 3 Stars

I've been using the worlds best electric shaver, the Braun Syncro, for about five years now. Every so often Braun makes the razor better by improving the foil/cutter - first by making them stronger, then by releasing the honeycomb foil found on newer models. My batteries weren't holding the charge they once did so I decided to try the 360 Complete thinking that after five years Braun must have improved the already terrific Syncro - they didn't.

The 360 Complete doesn't shave as close nor as comfortably as the Syncro, the razor is physically bulkier, it makes a high pitched electrical wine sound while charging (I've seen several that do this so I don't think it's just me), and there are so many blinking lights on the handset and cleaning base while charing that it looks like the Disneyland Main Street Electrical Parade!

They still make the Syncro, now called the Syncro Pro, sold for considerably less than the 360 Complete. Everyone's face is different, but if you want the advice of someone with a tough beard and sensitive skin who's tried them both, do yourself or your loved one a favor and buy the Syncro Pro. Braun, please compare these two models and figure out what you're doing wrong with the 360!

(Final thought: After using it for a disappointing two months I returned the 360 Complete and had my local razor repair man put a new logic board and battery set in my existing Syncro for about $50 bucks - if I didn't have that option I would have gladly shelled out for a new Syncro Pro).
