Braun's most recent Series 5 Shavers benefit from the new "Optifoil" that seems to shave even closer than the previous "Smart Foil" design. The Series 5 is easy to hold, has quick-charging lithium-ion batteries, and is made in Germany. The 590CC-4 includes Braun's Clean and Charge system, a cleaning solution refill, a cleaning brush, and a handy travel case. See my review of the Series 5-550CC for more details, the two shavers are the same except for the LED charge display and colors. This shaver is black and "Noble Metal," a grey-metallic finish that looks to be painted rather than plated plastic. Regardless, it's an attractive satin finish. This Holiday Edition is an incredible value at $118, and includes three full-size Gillette Fusion ProSeries men's face-care items as a bonus.
