Product Review: Best electric shave you can get

I have been using electric shavers since I had peach fuzz. So after 15 years of using shavers that cost less than 100 bucks I finaly decided to splurge a few extra bones and get a "superior" shaver. Well all that I can say is that the reviews on Amazon are right on the money. This shaver kicks some serious butt. I have always had sensitive skin on my neck. This razor glided over the tough areas and cut every little tough hair with no irritation or leftover razor bumps. I am waiting for as long as I can before I use the cleaning station because I am cheap, and I realize that when I open the alcohol based soulution I know that it will evaporate quickly. I will keep you posted on my cleaning experience!! If you use electric razors and you want the cream of the crop.... Look no further. This is a grand product. This Braun shaver is the best I've ever owned at providing a close shave in a minimal amount of time. Nothing is as good as a top quality blade, of course; but for convenience and comfort, this Braun is an excellent choice.
I especially like the self-cleaning process that comes with the shaver. It always leaves the device in brand-new condition. The shaver travels well too.
This is a good product for a fair price.

I owned a previous model and was very happy with it but was intriqued by the new head design on this model. As good as the previous version was this one is even better. Closer shave in less time. Highly recommended.
Update April 2007: I wrote the orignial review about 18 months ago. By way of update, the blades need to be changed more frequently than the recommended 18 months. Other than that I still love this shaver.

This is only my second review, I feel I had to do it since this is such a good product.
I used to own a top of the line Philishave rotary, the new Braun 8595 is by far a superior shave.
I have sensitive skin and after shaving with my Philips, the skin on my neck was irritated and red for hours, even after purchasing and installing new heads.
With the Braun 8595, no more irritation and a much closer shave.
After 3 weeks, I already bought 2 years worth of cleaning solution, so I know I am keeping this puppy for a long time. You feel like you are using a brand new shaver every time you shave.
So if you have sensitive skin, this one is a no-brainer, run to the store and get the Braun 8595, you will be glad you did.
Product Review: Better but still looking for the best

I am a longtime electric shaver user, so no long wait for my face to 'adapt.' Past tries of variouus Norelcos burned my face badly. I last used a Panasonic Linear but not with shaving cream, which shaved better than dry but was more irritating. Both the Panasonic and Braun drag on my skin without pre-shave which I recommend. Neither shaver mentions preshaves at all. I always liked ability to clean the Panasonic with antibacterial liquid soap. However, once a new foil/cutter is used for a while, the shave quality went downhill. Finally replaced the Panasonic because battery charge time was dropping and I travel a lot. Went back to this Braun mainly because of the new foil design - hadn't used a Braun in over 5 years. This shaves only a little better than the Panasonic, probably because the foil/cutter is new. However, there is much less irritation than any other shaver I've used. No one mentioned the vibration from the oscillating head - I found it annoying on the chin line when the jaw bone vibrates with it. I thought the cleaner function was a gimmick, but was used to daily cleaning the Panasonic with liquid soap and water, so worth giving the Braun cleaner a try. However, since you can't travel with the cleaner and I spend 20 weeks a year on the road, there is no advantage and it cannot be cleaned with water. Replacement foil/cutter is cheaper than Panasonic's but I don't expect the Braun foil to last 18 months, more like 8-10 months like every other shaver I've had.
