Product Review: Sure it hurts... but only in the beginning

I bought this product a few months ago and have used it several times since. It hurt my legs at first but it gets a little better every time I use it. The bikini and underarm areas hurt a lot more but I just try to use it for a few seconds every few days with the hope that the pain will lessen as time goes on.

The indicator light works great and really helps you see the hairs your removing.

My only complaint is that it's not cordless. It can be a little awkward dealing with the cord and trying to get the hard to reach spots behind your legs.

ok, so i bought this product after reading all the positive reviews on amazon. it arrived within 4 days and i was very excited (also very nervous) to use it. many users mentioned that it was very painful. "hah," i said to myself, "i'm a strong chick, how bad can this hurt?" i was pretty convinced that my pain tolerance was high. just in case, i took two shots of vodka and chugged some wine.

HOLY #$#@ and all the powers of hell, THIS DEVICE HURTS. the pain is almost unbearable. ok lets keep in mind i am very hairy. i have hair EVERYWHERE and i've been shaving since i was like 13... my entire leg, "bikini area" stomach, etc... (other horrid places that i wont get into...) And my hair is thick, too. Three or four grow out of each follicle, from shaving, i assume.

now this epilator hurts like the powers of hell. i am not lying. i cannot express how bad the pain is. i'm in my early 20's but THIS WAS THE MOST PAIN I HAVE EXPERIENCED IN MY LIFE. i started crying midway through my first leg. (seriously). luckily the epilator is so darn loud my roomates couldn't hear me. i had tears, sweat, and mucous streaming down my face as i sobbed -- my legs were twitching horribly and i winced and gritted my teeth against the firey stinging. i couldn't even get through both legs! (i'm doing the other one today). however... my leg is NOTICEABLY SMOOTHER and has less hair. SO... i fully intend to continue this. i'm tired of being hairy.

update: the pain is getting easier to deal with. the ingrowns SUCK. what a waste of my time, pulling ingrown hairs out. ugh. and it still hurts A LOT. it doesnt get my legs smooth either... i still have to shave. i dont know about this thing... my legs look ugly. and they have odd stubble. is it worth it? sigh. :(

I am very happy with this product. It removes even the shortest hairs and fast! I had an epilator before buying this one, but I found that it was very loud and not very good at pulling out the little hairs. I also didn't like its speed. All these issues were resolved with my new Silk-epil. I am very happy with this product and would recommend it to anyone looking to either upgrade from an older model or who might be thinking of getting their first epilator.

The first time you use an epilator it WILL hurt, but after just one time the pain is non-existent and the results last a very long time. If you consider shaving/waxing your legs a chore like I do, get this product. You will more than get your money's worth.
