The cutter and foil on the Braun 5000 work very well.
However,the life expectancy of these items can be short, particularly the foil. The foil will develop a crack or a break after a period of about six months and will have to be replaced as further use will cause cuts and abrasions to the shaved area.

I am not sure this is the right foil for my shaver. I have the Braun 5614 model and I can never find parts for that model. But it works very well. The screen doesn't pop off when you press the release button but it pulls off easily while you are pushing the release button. It does well on all parts of the face except the neck.
