Product Reviews of BlueMD - Acne Blue Light Therapy TreatmentProduct Review: Best acne light I have used yet Summary: 5 Stars
I am probably a more advanced consumer of light therapy treatments than most, I've been going to medspa's for things like laser hair removal, fotofacials, and laser skin tightening treatments.
I discovered blue light therapy for acne several years ago at my dermatologists office, they had this huge machine that I would sit under for 30 minutes two or three times per week. It worked great, but it was a total pain to go out there so many times, not to mention expensive. So I tried a few of the handheld acne light thingies, which probably would have worked except I could never stand to hold it to my face for more than 5 minutes. So when I heard about the bluemd from a friend, I tried it. The difference is huge, it is so comfortable. You lay under it just like in the derm's office, but in the comfort of your own home. Personally, it seems to work just as well as the one at the doc's office, as far as strength goes. I can actually feel it pulsating on the acne, which is the same sensation I used to get.
Product Review: Blue Light Therapy promising Summary: 5 Stars
First I would like to make a comment about the reviews that make comments about how small the product is and how they have to spend an hour covering the different parts of their face. I do think that if you have acne covering your face you would maybe have to do two treatment sessions, one for the bottom half, one for the top. The light bulbs cover an area of about 4 by 5 inches, how big is your face?
I have seen results, not a single new pimple, and the most important part is my first week using it was my PMS week when my face completely breaks out normally. I have learned to lather on moisturizer in order to combat the drying effect but the device comes with a booklet that says you might have to do that.
For anyone who is going to mention how I have not reviewed prior acne products and try to lower my credibility, I only write a review when I am truly let down or impressed. I don't want to write a bad review for a product, just because it didn't work for me doesn't mean it wont work for someone else.
This device seems to work for me, results were noticed on less then a week.
Product Review: BlueMD Blue Light Review Summary: 5 Stars
I have only had a few days to use the BlueMD device, but it already seems to be killing bacteria in my skin and reducing redness. Overall I'm very happy with the purchase - it is far more convenient and cost effective than professional sessions. Also, unlike with some products, you do NOT need to hold your hand up to your face for 20 min., which you will find becomes so annoying that you will not adequately use the blue light and as a result you will not see results. The BlueMD light seems to have very good light intensity, which is another important difference from other products. I added some weight to the base of mine to make it more stable so that it doesn't get knocked over and break the bulbs...I think this would be a design improvement, but it's no big deal.
Product Review: BlueMD Blue Light Therapy Summary: 5 Stars
I ordered this light to help clear up moderate acne around my jawline and noticed a difference within a week. I initially had a problem with the unit itself, the portion that holds the light became loose and I had to hold it in place with my hands.
After seeing my review, the company immediately sent me a new light (without my request) which was a wonderful surprise. There are NO problems at all with the new unit, works great.
I'm now using the unit about once a week to maintain the clarity of my skin and love the results and would recommend to anyone that has problems with acne.
Product Review: Disappointing, like everything else has been. Summary: 2 Stars
I've followed the instructions and used this product for nearly a month now. I consistently use BlueMD every 24 hours for 30 minutes at a time. During the first few days of use it appeared to be working, but then, I guess my skin noticed that I had stopped using topical products (which were usually ineffective anyway), and I began to develop severe acne mostly on my chin and near my lips. This has always been a problem area. While I think the BlueMD may be keeping the rest of my face dry enough to keep acne from forming, the acne around my chin has worsened after a few weeks of using the device. I even get up 2-3 hours before I normally would, so that I can wash my face and let the natural oil moisturize my face over time, rather than using a moisturizer for the incredibly dry skin that BlueMD causes. There's really nothing else that I can do. This product gets added to my long list of disappointing and expensive experiments.
