Product Review: Works well but is a little complicated

I bought the BioBrite Sunrise Clock Radio. As far as the sunrise feature, it works well, except that the bulb blew after only a week. I would have given this item 4 stars except that it is a little hard to program. It only has one alarm setting so on the weekends you either have to reset the alarm time or not use it at all (or of course, get up at the same time each day).
Also, it's much bigger than I expected. It takes up all of the space on my bedside table and looks a little weird in my decor. There is no reason for it to be so big since it uses a tiny 60w lightbulb - the flame shaped kind. Design wise, it could be more discreet.
I did like to awake to the sunrise simulation. It was a gentler and more natural way to wake up then the jarring beep or radio of a traditional alarm clock. I awoke refreshed and ready to start my day. I am becoming (gasp!) a morning person...
Ultimately, I ended up returning it and buying the Apollo Daybreak Duo because it is much smaller and I can plug my own lamp into it.

I was really excited to get this, seeing as I live in New England and have lots of trouble getting up on dark winter mornings. I read lots of reviews complaining about the buttons, but I have found it very easy to use. At first I was not waking up to the light, but would wake up with my cell phone alarm, but now a couple of weeks later, I no longer need to set the cell phone, and I find myself awake before the light is even at it's full brightness. It is definitely a great way to wake up and I am far less cranky in the mornings. It is a little pricey, but in my mind it is worth the money to be feeling better every day!Product Review: a lot less SAD

Living in the midwest; winter months with their grey skies, short days, cold temperatures surely affect the overall mood for many and in others a Seasonal Affective Disorder. It was for this reason I decided to search out a light simulation alternative to help with the depression of winter. The BioBrite Sunrise Clock Radio was easy to use, easy to understand. What does not work for me is the radio. My intention was to use this clock radio in the winter months then switch back to my normal clock radio for the rest of the year. Since the radio cannot adequately pick up any my local radio stations, I am forced to keep both systems on my night stand. But that is the only negative. The light simuation sunrise has been amazing in alleviating the SAD symptoms. Immediately I noticed that I was less tired and groggy in the morning than before I began using the light. Now I do not feel like I am in a tunnel until almost noon. And I was surprised how much I have come to enjoy the evening dusk simulation. Normally falling asleep is not a real problem for me but I really do find the dusk simuation to be very relaxing once I turn in for the night. I would highly recommend this product to those who suffer from the winter blues. For me, I thought this would be the better alternative to daily light treatments and I am not disappointed. I live in VT where many month of the year I am getting up in the dark and I find it so much easier to wake up in the summer when the sun is rising so I decided to try this. It always wakes me up with just the light and I have it set so the radio set on my favorite station and it goes off when it hits maximum brightness. I find myself waking up easier and in a better mood. The only negative is that the bulb died two weeks after I received it but luckily it doesn't need a special or expensive bulb
