Product Reviews of Bio-Oil, 2-Ounce BottleProduct Review: Wow, something that works! Summary: 5 StarsI admit it, I got this because I thought: "This stuff is totally going to tank" and I figured I'd have a great time giving it grief.
It might not be the best skin repairative I've ever used, but it comes really close. I have a number of issues with my skin, and this stuff has done wonders on a lot of them.
It has softened up my scars, and smoothed out some of my fine lines. It also did great guns with aleviating some other skin disorders. All with a formulation that is said to emulate some things I'd just as soon not ever know why anyone would even try using on human skin.
Sort of like why anyone would ingest nitro glycerine for heart ailments.
Try it, you'll be surprised and amazed. I know I was.
Product Review: Basic Ingredients Work Sometimes Summary: 3 StarsBio-Oil contains basic ingredients needed for your skin, like Vitamins A and E. The calendula, lavender, rosemary and chamomile oils are primarily for a light not un-pleasant scent. I decided to try Bio-Oil over a 14-day period (event though it recommends several weeks). There were four places I applied Bio-Oil twice a day for three minutes. One was where I had old white scar-scratch on my arm from my cat, one was a wide old scar on my leg, another was a splotchy spot on my face from too much sun and the last was on my neck where I have a little bit of stretch marks. The older scars (thin and thick) on my arm and leg did not change in appearance at all. The little stretch mark on my neck and the splotchy spot on my face actually did show improvements in appearance. The little stretch lines disappeared and my face has a more even appearance. I was concerned about my face, as I break out easily, but Bio-Oil did not cause any breakouts.
The bottle is more than half empty but I'll continue to finish it off on the two spots and seemed to get some good response. If you use this product during pregnancy for stretch marks, you would definitely go through several bottles. There is no doubt that it helps tremendously with moisturizing your skin.
Product Review: Seems to Work Summary: 4 StarsActually, my wife is the one who tried this. I did too, but only once. She tried it regularly. The directions say the user will see improvements after 3 months. Since this is an Amazon Vine review and we have to post our reviews before the next monthly offering in order to continue with the program, obviously my wife did not get to use this for the full 3 months as recommended.
For the time she has used it, however, she said that her skin did feel tighter, i.e, it firmed up wrinkles. Since her skin is on the oily side she didn't want to use it in warmer weather (with which we are now afflicted in Southern California) because it made her skin feel oilier. She also said it smelled quite strong but I think that was from applying too much. Bottom line, she said it does seem to work as intended.
I also tried some so I could put in my two cents. The bottle dispenses only a small amount and you really don't need that much. As the label states, it doesn't really feel very greasy and it is readily absorbed into the skin (I used it on my hands). It has a pleasant, mild herbal smell that I didn't find too strong. I think my wife used too much at one time or else her sense of smell is much more sensitive than mine. The area on my hand to which I applied the oil does feel smoother, though.
Product Review: Bio- Fabulous Summary: 5 Stars(Review done by my wife)
At first I was quite skeptical of this product. An oil that is not greasy? Reduces scar markings? Stretch marks will fade away? Moisturizes dry skin? A tall order for a product I would say. However, it does emphasize that you need to use it twice a day for no less than 3 months in order to see results. I would say that the product is wonderful to use. The oil IS non-greasy. It absorbs quickly into the skin and I can use it virtually anywhere. I focus mostly on my hips for stretch marks and on my hands for dry skin. The smell is nice. The bottle has a top that does not allow you to put too much oil in one spot. Which is wonderful so none goes to waste. This size of bottle is plenty for the 3 month challenge. It is a terrific moisturizer and like I said, it does not leave a greasy residue. As for the stretch marks, I have only used it for one month and I do notice a slight difference. I highly recommend this product, and will recommend this to my newly pregnant friends.
Product Review: Would only be better if it were a cream. Summary: 4 StarsI had seen adds for this product, but like most that make great promises, I am skeptical. So far, of the many stretch-mark creams, oils and treatments I've used the only success I've had was with Striadril, which helped tremendously at treating post-birth marks, but wasn't so fantastic at preventing them. I only withheld one star from this because I find the oils a bit messy and harder to work with. If this came in a cream-oil, it would be perfect. As for "performance", I can personally attest that I am much larger with this pregnancy than I was with my first, but have yet to see a stretch mark appear. I have used the oil as recommended, and some days only once instead of twice. It truly does absorb quickly. I was able to use the oil, wait just long enough to brush my teeth, then put on a cotton shirt without seeing oil residue marks on my clothing. A test some other products have failed. Who wants oil stains on their clothing? I would recommend this as a preventative treatment for expecting moms.
