Product Reviews of Bio-Oil, 2-Ounce BottleProduct Review: As with anything, results may vary. Summary: 4 StarsI have been using this product for about three months now as a preventative solution to pregnancy stretch marks. I started to use it during my first trimester in hopes of avoiding dreaded stretch marks. I am now six months pregnant and I have no visible sign of stretch marks however I know this might change. There is no product out there that can prevent them and quite honestly whether you get them or not is largely due to many other factors that a cream or oil could do nothing about. Stretch marks happen from the inside out and although moisturizing helps it's only an aid. How each person's skin reacts is different and in my case I did see some lightening of marks I had prior to pregnancy but I am not going to bet the farm that this will completely protect me from them since there are too many other factors at play. I say for the price and for me, this product seems to work. I say it's worth the try at least.
Product Review: A waste of money Summary: 1 StarsI am currently 9 months pregnant, and i have been using this product since I was about 4 months. I have wasted my money using this product everyday because the bigger you get in pregnancy, the more bio oil you have to use. Once your stomach gets larger, you will go through a bottle in about 2-3 weeks. At first I thought this product worked, but once I got about 7 1/2 months, the stretch marks started to appear. I should have listened to the sales lady in Walgreens and kept it on the shelf.
Product Review: Good daily moisturnizer..Does NOTHING for scars Summary: 3 StarsI first bought this product in Jan '07 after reading rave reviews for it online. I suffer from terrible acne scars (some pitted, some superficial) all over my face and heard that this oil was a veritable mircale worker. I have been using it religiously as directed (twice a day for over a year now) and it has made absolutely NO difference to the appearance of my scars whatsover. So as a treatment for scars (both serious and superficial scars) it does absolutely NOTHING and I give it a 1 star as far as scar treatment goes. But it is a great mosturizer and for this function I give it 5 stars. It sinks into my skin and gives it a magical luminosity that no other face mosturizers can.
Product Review: Good, but Not a Miraculous! Summary: 3 StarsI bought this product because I'm pregnant and I wanted to avoid strech marks. I've been using this product for 2 months now, after shower only. I have tried it on old scars, but no improvement at all. I have also tried it on darkish spots on my legs and arms (too much sun bathing in the past!)and it has shown good improvement! Besides that, of course, I'm using it on my belly (5 months preggy!)and so far no strech marks (but maybe I would never had them, who knows?!)!
I like the oily consistency for the body, but would not apply to the face.
It may work for some skin types, better than others, it's a hard call. In doubt, I tried it!
Product Review: Great Results for Rosacea/Redness Summary: 4 StarsI have been very pleased with the results from Bio Oil - I have used Finacea and Metrogel (both prescription) as well as Eucerin Redness Relief and Cetaphil (among a host of other products), but Bio Oil is the only product that has significantly improved my skin - not just managed the problem, but improved it! I am delighted after about 6 weeks - saw an improvement right away but waited to review to make sure.
Good luck to you if you have rosacea/redness - it's a drag. Try this, it certainly helped me.
