I bought this product thinking that it couldn't hurt to try it. My doctor had recently told me that my LDL cholesterol was high. After only two months of using it, my LDL cholesterol dropped by 40 points. I no longer have to consider a statin drug. I started using Benecol Chews in June 2007. I just recently had my cholesterol checked and I dropped significantly. My last count was a total of 233 and the most recent count was a total of 190. I was very thrilled. I purposely wanted to get a new test before I ordered more Benecol Chews to make sure they were actually doing something for me. I don't have to question the effects Benecol has had on me. I attribute the drop in my total cholesterol to the Benecol Chews and adding more soluble fiber to my diet via oatmeal. Look for oatmeal that contains at least 4 g of soluble fiber. Most have just 1 or 2 soluble fibers. Quaker Weight Control has 4 g of soluble fiber and if you are familiar with Trader Joe's they have a Heart Healthy Oatmeal (Blueberry and Cranberry, Blueberry is my favorite) that also has 4 g of soluble fiber. I also exercise regularly at least 4 time a week. So I personally feel the combination of the above was the result of my drop in cholesterol. My cholesterol numbers have definetely dropped. There was a drop also in the triglcerides and a change in LDL and HDL. I have lab work coming up soon and hopefully the test will confirm that sterols play a role in lower cholesterol numbers. If this works then Smart Chews are an easy and convienent way to aid in dropping cholesterol numbers. As of this date I highly recommend the Chews.Product Review: Benecol Smart Chews

I won't know how effective this product is for lowering cholesterol until my husband has his next blood test.
The vendor was shipping automatically each month. A month was missed and I received twice the amount a month later. I will cancel this auto order if that happens again.

My cholesterol had been high -- 265 - for some time. I did NOT want to take statins, so I tried many methods said to lower cholesterol, like eating oatmeal everyday, cutting out red meat, and exercising. That dropped my cholesterol to 257. However, after using Benecol -- taking one or two chews with a meal twice a day -- for five months, my cholesterol is now 219! I am thrilled. I have referred several other friends to this wonderful product. Some people like to eat a "chocolate mint" after meals, I eat a Benecol chew ! Thank you for carrying this product.
