I have been taking these over a year together with Lutein and Zeaxanthin. When I went in for my annual check up there was no change, so it is working for me. I have the beginning stages, hopefully with this regiment I can continue to keep it that way, hopefully, it will go away. My ophthalmologist told me to take these to impede the development of macular degeneration. What's good about this particular brand is that the capsules are smaller than others and only two per day are needed instead of the usual four. Is it helping with my very early stage and symptom-less macular degeneration? I have no idea. Ask me again in ten years.Product Review: Easy to take AREDS

These new gel AREDS are much easier to take then the old formala. They are about half the size & you only take two per day instead of four. You must take them with food as they will probably bother your stomach if you don't. Over time they are suppose to help ageing eyes.Product Review: Excellent
