Product Review: Not as great as the primarily displayed review states

I bought this thermometer on the basis of the September 2009 review by Anonymous that appeared to give pretty compelling testimony that all the other reviews for this product were worthless. I wish now I'd paid more attention to the other reviews! The beeps are in fact quite loud, particularly if you have a light-sleeper of a spouse. While the recall feature would display a tempurature before going into ready mode, that temperature was always the same number, rather than actually being my last temperature. And worst of all, the thermometer did not read my temperature accurately. Not once in my cycle did my temperature read as below 98 degrees until I bought another thermometer to try. All in all, this thermometer was a waste of my money...and my time, as it delayed accurate charting for a cycle.

My husband and I are on our 4th month trying to conceive. I have heard that a good way to gauge your ovulation time is with a basal thermometer, so I got one just to help the process along. After not even a month of using this I got tired of it. My temperatures were all over the place even though I was doing them at the same time every morning before I got out of bed.
I spoke with my Dr. about using these. She said that these are not for everyone. Some women don't have any correlation between their ovulation and their temperature changing. It was a lot more stress than it was worth, for me. There are a lot of things to keep track of in addition to just taking your temperature, and for me, it was just too much.
The thermometer itself does a fine job. The back light was nice and it takes the temperature accurately from what I could tell. It does take a while for it to take your temperature though. The constant beep while it's taking your temperature is a nice indicator that it is still working, but also annoying that it is continuous. It would be better if it just beeped when it was finished or if there was an error.

I was not a bit impressed with the accuracy of this thermometer. After using it for about 5-6 months, I haven't had a clear chart yet for ovulation because the temps are flat flat flat (and I know I ovulated at least one month because I ended up pregnant but later miscarried). The only parts I liked about this thermometer was the backlit display. The every 3 second beeps were ridiculous, and the temps took forever, which is why I think it didn't work well. All in all, This is not a product I would recommend to anyone DO NOT BUY....Product Review: Not so good

This basal thermometer is not very good...I have been using one from Walgreens and it gives you a reading like 97.89, this one however will only give you reading like 97.8....to me there is a big difference in just 97.8 and 97.89, especially if you are charting your temp.For me I personally like the one that gives me more information.Product Review: OURAH! This is my first month using a thermometer and I chose this one because of the rather good reviews.
I was kinda misinterpreting my ovulation symptoms before but with this stuff, everything was clear.
And it really worked for me: I'm pregnant already!
This thing is good. I definitely recommend it.
