Before purchasing these bars, I had tried the Garden of Life Very Berry Bars. They reminded me somewhat of fig newtons in terms of the texture of the filling. I found the very berry bars both tasty and filling as they are a lot denser than many cereal-type bars. So, when I saw the apple-cinnamon flavor available, I decided to try those too. These bars make a very good snack after exercising or when you are hungry but don't want to munch on junk food like chips. I like the heavier, full bodied, whole grained, moist and chewy kind of snacks like this, so these bars are right up my alley. If you like the light, thin, crunchy cereal bars that have no fiber, then you will probably not like these. These are good with a hot cup of coffee or hot tea while you read the paper or watch TV. They fit my tastes perfectly.
