Product Reviews of BandIT Therapeutic Forearm BandProduct Review: Good for Tennis Elbow Summary: 5 Stars
Looking for some good treatments for tennis elbow, I came across the book Treat Your Own Tennis Elbow. In it, the book recommends using one of these forearm bands, also known as counterforce braces. Apparently they don't know exactly how these things help decrease tennis elbow pain, but they work. The current theory is that tennis elbow is a problem with the tendon of one of your forearm muscles. Putting this brace near the tendon of the problem muscle takes pressure off the tendon, giving it a chance to heal. Some of the studies quoted in the book also show these braces can increase your arm strength as well as decrease pain- so there's a lot of benefit to be gained by using one.
Now the first problem you might imagine you'd have is one of comfort. These things have to be on snug to take pressure off the forearm tendon or they're useless. Of course more pressure usually means LESS comfort. That's where this little baby comes in- its designed to get around the issues of cutting off your circulation. Now it is made of two pieces of plastic, so its a little more rigid than the soft braces, but its padded with foam and the plastic does give- so it ends up being both firm and comfortable.
The way I see it, forearm bands can't help you if you're not able to wear them. So if you've tried other bands, give this one a shot- it's a little different than the others and well worth a try. I'd also urge sufferers to do a few of the specialized exercises in the book to prevent recurrences or for those who find they simply can't stand wearing the brace.
Product Review: Good for moderate tendonitis Summary: 5 Stars
I use the BandIT Therapeutic Forearm Band for weightlifting. I also use it when I'm doing heavy lifting at home (moving things, working outside, etc). I had moderate, but bearable, pain in my elbow from tendonitis when I lifted heavy things, especially if I lost balance and had to correct my form. I don't experience any pain from that while wearing the forearm band.
It was slightly uncomfortable to wear for weightlifting at first, because the sides of the Velcro straps are a little sharp. But my arm toughened up to that after a few workouts, and I don't notice it anymore.
Product Review: Good to prevent and cure the elbow damage Summary: 4 Stars
Have used it for more than a month now. It helps to prevent more damages to my tendon on front arm. My arm feels much better even I continued to play tennis once or twice a week.
things I don't like:
Not a comfortable fit, the tightening strip might loose during the middle of a play.
Product Review: Great Summary: 5 Stars
This works great my tendonitis was chronic and so bad I could not pick up a cup or wash my hair - now with this and some physical therapy I have hope of a full recovery
Product Review: Great Summary: 5 Stars
Spend the extra for this quality. I had the other one and this definitely works better...relief for the pain.
