I bought this when my previous thermometer's battery died. I thought it would be a great opportunity to upgrade to a faster version. I use it for charting/FAM and it gave me readings significantly lower than my old thermometer and just didn't seem to be accurate. Luckily I was able to find a battery for my old model and used them both for a month. Within a few weeks it was clear that this one just wasn't as good. The "rapid" feature seems to work against it--it's not accurate enough after being in your mouth for such a short amount of time. I went back to my old model (which I highly recommend).
