It will pick up most everything BUT it is only for light weight items. Two to three pounds no more. I have several of them and just ordered three more.Product Review: Good product with 2 big flaws.

The Gopher is a good product and you do not need to be disabled to use it. I find if you want to pick up something like a newspaper it is fine. But for heavier objects it is annoying because it closes in half. Get the ridget ones. Also the suction cups tips and the bars that hold the tips at the end popped off one day. I saw replacement parts for other reachers but not the Gopher.
I suggest getting a few of them because they are throw away products if they break. Because like windshield wipers when you need them you really need them and you would hate to have them break in the middle of a storm with no replacement on hand. The ridget ones ino carry bigget objects. But all and all if did what it is suppose to do,

I use these tools when I walk on the side of the Autobahn (the nationally coordinated motorway system in Germany) in Germany. I find many dead rodents that I pick up and store in a bag. I usually take them home to prepare if they're not too damaged. I also use it to pick up bottles of whiskey (I siphon the leftover whiskey in each bottle to form a full bottle) or cans so I can recycle them.
Unfortunately the quality of this brand is really not that good.

I am very short (5 ft) with tall kitchen cabinets and believe me this helps. I like that you can fold it to put it away and takes up less space. I like the rubber tips on the end. Although, I like it, I do have three complaints, which is why I gave it 4 stars. One is it does not hold too much weight, about a regular sized can of soup is the most it holds. Second, the grip end needs to be wider to wrap around items other than a can of soup. The grip end is wide enough to wrap around a can of soup. Three, the materials that is made of is a little flimsy, need to be better quality. This is my second pickput tool. The rubber tips at the end broke off my first tool.
