Customer Review: An aluminum-free that works!

I've tried several aluminum-free deodorants. The Jason brand Aloe Vera scented helped control sweat but added an odor that I didn't find appealing. Kiss My Face didn't contribute an odor but didn't help slow the sweat either. My favorite is Arm & Hammer Essentials, a GoGreenMart&More product of the week. Free of both Aluminum and Paraben (a synthetic preservative that raises concerns of cancer and hormone alteration) it utilizes baking soda and plant extracts to absorb moisture. It goes on smooth, a little wet, but dries quickly and doesn't irritate freshly shaved skin. I chose the "unscented" variety which has a slightly citrus, clean smell and keeps me dry though-out the day.
Health concern rise when deodorants incorporate antiperspirants. Classified as drugs by the FDA, they are designed to stop or reduce perspiration and the moist climate in which bacteria rely. In order to work, traditional antiperspirants contain aluminum salts which can promote dementia and Alzheimer's and for years the scientific community has debated its link to breast cancer.
