Product Reviews of Andis 21420 Pro-Animal Detachable Ceramic Blade Clipper KitProduct Review: Good clippers Summary: 4 Stars
I used the clippers on my maltese mix. The clippers got a little warm after about 10 minutes, so I turned them off and waited for 5 minutes, then finished the job. The clippers worked well -- I just need to learn how to clip him without making him look like a dog-refugee. The instructions were all for a giant poodle, so I made up my own method.
Product Review: Good clippers Summary: 4 Stars
I just got these yesterday and started on my dog right away. There are 4 clipper guard attachments included, 3/8", 1/2", 1/4" and 1/8", and of course you can use the clippers with no guard. There is also a small vial of oil for the clippers. The case seems a bit flimsy, but should work fine. The case is black plastic with compartments for each item included. The clippers are actually purple (they look blue in the photo).
Before using these clippers, I had been using people hair clippers and the difference is like night and day. My dog is a beagle/corgi mix and she has a VERY thick undercoat and a thick mane. These clippers worked well in most areas, however, the thickest areas were still difficult to cut using the 1/2" guard. Also, the clippers got pretty hot as I used them (I used them for about an hour). I actually had to stop and let my dog have a break because they were getting hot enough to make her hot (didn't burn her or anything, but they radiate heat). We were outside (in NC in June) doing this, so that may have contributed, but they still got pretty hot.
Overall, they worked as I expected them to. In most areas, they glided smoothly through the fur, and I agree with the reviews about the sound level. They are much quieter than the other clippers I was using, although the sound was still very noticeable. It did not bother my dog, but might for more sensitive pooches. I am very happy with what I received for the price, and the service and shipping through Amazon were positive (as always!).
Product Review: Good clippers for my little furry Maltipoo! Summary: 4 Stars
I'd previously purchased a cheaper pair of clippers off Ebay. Those just didn't "cut it", literally!! After researching dog clippers, I decided on the Andis brand and glad that I did! For home grooming, these clippers work good and get the job done. Would recommend these most definitely!
Product Review: Good clippers for the money Summary: 5 Stars
I started to get the higher priced clippers, but I'm glad I went with these. I have 2 collies that I shave once a year and didn't want to spend a bunch of money. I also bought the #7 Skip Tooth blade to cut through the under coat per the Andis customer service reps. suggestion. It's still a tough job, but beats spending 60 or 70 bucks at the groomer per dog not to mention the pain of transporting 2 large dogs there and back.
Product Review: Good clippers, but don't hurry Summary: 4 Stars
The clippers are excellent quality and cut well. We have a poodle that has very thick hair. If you take your time, these clippers do a wonderful job.
