Product Review: Disappointed - ceramic blade broke on first use!

I only received this item the other day, and was very excited to try it out on my dog, a kelpie x border collie cross. However, the ceramic blade actually broke on the first use. The clippers also got very hot after some time. Clearly something must have been wrong from the beginning that I didn't realise (although I did follow instructions, and oiled before, and during use), and I'm sure that it's not something that happens frequently, but I was extremely disappointed.
Otherwise, they seem like good clippers for at home/occasional use, and do reasonably well on thick coats.

This seems to be the perfect clipper for me as I am just learning how to groom my small 5 lb. dog. It's fairly quiet so it doesn't scare her and the blade that comes with it cuts nice and close without cutting her skin.Product Review: Excellent clipper for a great price

I have been using this clipper for my Standard Poodle for about 6 months now - I do his feet and face at least once a month - and it is great for all our needs. I have never taken him to a groomer, and have had show dog friends and pro groomers tell me he looks great with just the clipping we do with this clipper. All clippers will get hot - it's simply a law of physics: two pieces of metal rubbing together at high speed causes heat. I have extra blades and a damp cloth nearby when the blade gets hot. If you find the clipper "drags through the coat" it may be the same thing that happened to me when I first got it - the blade wasn't snapped down into position correctly and it wasn't clipping at all. For my Poodle, this clipper is fabulous, and the price can't be beat!Product Review: For Light Duty Only

If you have only one dog and groom him two or three times a year, this is a good product. However, I have two dogs that need trimming 2-3x a year. The product is too noisy, in my opinion. Plus, the motor burned out after 2-3 years, which, considering its light usage, I think is unacceptable. Light duty, ok. Medium duty, keep looking.Product Review: GREAT PRODUCT. BUY CREAMIC BLADES AS THEY DON'T HEAT UP LIKE STAINLESS BLADES AND NEVER NEED SHARPENING. POWERFUL MOTOR WITH CLIPPER ATTACHMENTS GIVE DOGS OR CATS WITH SHORT OR LONG HAIR A GREAT LOOKING HAIRCUT.
