Product Reviews of Andis 21420 Pro-Animal Detachable Ceramic Blade Clipper Kit

Product Review: Andis 21420 was a wise purchase!
Summary: 5 Stars

I did a lot of research before ordering these clippers and I used the for the first time this weekend.....they worked great! I have a Shih-tzu/Bichon mix "Teddy Bear" and they did a fantastic job on his hair. His hair is most like the Shih-tzu, and he as A LOT of it! These clippers did an excellent job of trimming it. I have never groomed a dog before and was very nervous, but was extremely happy with the outcome.

Product Review: Andis Clipper Groomer
Summary: 4 Stars

Since my cat is high maintenance and needs grooming frequently I am glad I purchased this Andis 21420 Clipper Set. It is easy to use. I like the case it came in and it helps with storage. It has four combs (for different hair lengths) that are detachable and work well. This clipper runs fairly quiet and didn't upset my cat. That means a lot to me. I am pretty slow when it comes to clipping my cat and this clipper is good about not heating up for quite a while. However, I wish it was a little more powerful when it comes to wanting to zip the hair off a bit faster. It still does the job well and I have no real complaints about this product. My cat has some really thick hair, undercoat, and long to the floor. That could be part of the problem. The pricing of this product is excellent and it makes up for the power. I would purchase this product again and recommend this to friends. More colors to choose from please. Thank You for helping me keep my cat up beautiful. It does a wonderful job.

Product Review: Andis Clippers for my Poodle
Summary: 5 Stars

After making the big decision to groom our standard poodle, the next decision was selecting the clippers. I had been told told "get a better clipper" but not really sure what that meant. I didn't want to spend a couple hundred and wasn't that psyched about spending $150 either - after all, what if I couldn't do the grooming task and then I really wasted a lot of money!

So, after a lot of looking (and reading reviews), I selected the Andis 21420 Pro - a great decision! Plus, the instructions included in the hard storage case was how to groom a poodle! How did they know that? ha ha. Anyway, the clippers are quiet and didn't upset our dog and the motor is strong enough to cut through his hair pretty easily. We like the "puppy cut" and I had to "mow" through some mats in his hair and the clippers performed magnificently. You just need to be patient in the thicker mats; take your time.

The blades included were easy to put on and take off and were a good selection for this style cut. I really only used 1 blade and then just the clipper head (for the face). Like most clippers, the head will get hot so do the face first. Once you have the blades attached, heat is not a factor. Given my first experience, the entire groom took me about 2 hours, and the clipper hung in there wonderfully, as did my dog. He was very comfortable through the groom and seemed to like the clippers as much as I do!

Product Review: Andis Dog Trimmer - great product
Summary: 5 Stars

We have used this trimmer on our Shih-Poo 3 times, It works well and cuts clean. It is quiet and does not get hot. I oil it perodical as I trim little Cody. We are still learning and saving money, about $35 each time.

Product Review: Andis Pro-Animal Clippers 21420
Summary: 5 Stars

I got the clippers last night for my rough coated Jack Russell terrier. I had to try it out right away and I used the ceramic blade #10 and felt that it was cutting too short, but since I couldn't figure how to put the guards on so I just raised the clippers up a little bit and it worked fine. Now I know how to put the guard on, so next time I'll try it. It didn't get very hot at all. I had bought a can of Oster Kool Lube for $12.99 and it is quite large and cools the blade down right away, plus it lubricates the blade at the same time. So for all the people that are saying that they get too hot, invest in the Kool Lube and you shouldn't have any problems at all. So you don't have to worry about oiling them constantly because it does that for you. I used to do some rough coating for a groomer so I basically knew a little bit before I started and remembered that I'd always check to make sure the blade wasn't getting too hot. As soon as it felt a little hot to me, I'd use the cooling spray right away. This is the best investment I've made in quite a while and would highly recommend it to anyone. I think I got a good deal on the 7 piece clipper set for $59.00 + shipping.
