I was a professional dog groomer for many years and always used the high end Oster clippers. I needed something ASAP to groom my 3 Shih Tzu, did not have the money for the clippers I wanted (Oster A-5), so "settled" for the Andi's 21420. Was a little sluggish compared to the A-5, didn't exactly go through the hair like a knife through butter, but did a very adequate job! I guess the proof will be in how long they last as compared with the 12-15 years of my previous clippers.Product Review: A FREQUENT CLIPPER USER

I RECENTLY ADOPTED A SHIH TZU AND REALIZED SHE NEEDS FREQUENT HAIRCUTS TO STAY NEAT AND AVOID TANGLES. THE ANDIS PRO PET 21420 CLIPPER DOES A VERY GOOD JOB. AFTER SOME TRIAL AND ERROR, I FOUND IT WORKS BEST ON HER WITHOUT THE ATTACHMENTS. THE CLIPPER DOES NOT BECOME HOT AND IS PRETTY QUIET, SO SHE IS NOT STARTLED.SINCE I HAVE TWO OTHER DOGS, PLUS CATS AND BIRDS, TO TAKE THIS PUP TO A GROOMER MONTHLY IS TOO EXPENSIVE. I CAN GIVE HER A BATH AT HOME AND THE CLIPPER GIVES HER A NICE HAIRCUT SO IT HAS PAID FOR ITSELF ALREADY.Product Review: Can't go wrong at the price and terms I paid

I have two Cocker Spaniels, one of which is subject to seizures. Therefore I try to minimize anything stressful to her. She hates to go to the groomers and does not cooperate well during grooming. Amazingly, she sits still for me to use these clippers on her. Although I am not a professional at cutting her hair, it does allow me to cut the number of times she has to go quite a bit. The quiet motor is a blessing, and the snap on blades make it easy to adjust the length you want. Just be sure your dog has been combed out good when using the snap on blades. I purchased these clippers to groom my Shih-Tsu and they work great! I would recommend combing and removing any mats beforehand, although these clippers will even go through them without pulling; it just takes alittle longer. overall, i would purchase these again, if they ever wear out!
