Being DESPERATE for sleep, and seeing an infomercial for this product, I ordered it and was pleasantly surprised to find that it did help a LOT and didn't leave me groggy the next day. BUT, do NOT order this product from the TV ad! You will find yourself inundated with the product and some pretty hefty credit card bills. I was delighted to find it on AMAZON at a greatly reduced price and sent to me only when I ordered it! Thanks, AMAZON!Product Review: Amazing product

I've had difficulty sleeping since I was a kid. Alteril works great for me, definitely better than other herbal medications and without the hangover feeling from OTC sleeping pills. I've tried Ambien before, which worked well, but I don't have health insurance so this is much cheaper. I do tend to take 3 pills instead of the dose of 1-2, so hopefully that isn't a problem. This product has changed my life for the better, since I can reliably sleep at night now. I take it almost every night.Product Review: As Advertised

I would recommend Alteril. Don't be dissuaded by reviews that claim the product does not work. Chemicals work differently on different people. Also, it is true you buy all of the ingredients found in Alteril seperately but it will cost you more.Product Review: As Advertised

Sleep related issues are likely to be personal in nature. I am not a doctor (and do not even play one on TV) but sleep probably has a lot to do with personality and one's state of mind. Drugs that help one individual may have an opposite effect in others.
Other non-prescription choices are mostly the same active incredient. Alteril provides another option to consider. Prescription choices have unattractive side effects. I tried a prescription drug first but it really was not providing relief and seemed to last only 5 hours anyway. Alteril works better and, for me, has no side effects.
If you are unsatisfied with other options, Alteril may be a better fit for your situation.
