Product Review: Multiple Alteril Dosages Available

I've been buying Alteril from my local CVS for the last few months- and it works great. So I'm shopping online to find a better price and found this product from Amazon. However, the CVS product dosage is only one tablet, while the one from Amazon recommends one to two tablets. The one from CVS has a green oval label on the bottom right with the verbiage "Packaged for 1-tablet Dose," and sells for a few dollars less but with only 30 tablets per package instead of 60. The Supplement Facts for the CVS product show the following for one (1) tablet:
L-Tryptophan - 350mg
Glycine - 25mg
Proprietary Blend - 310mg
This one from Amazon for two (2) tablets is:
L-Tryptophan - 666mg
Glycine - 50mg
Proprietary Blend - 264mg (added remaining ingredients)
So it seems the one from Amazon is a better deal, except the Proprietary Blend can't be compared directly without more information. There's also a third product called Alteril Plus with a different ratio of ingredients from either of the above. Will update this review in a few weeks after trying the ones from Amazon to let you know how they compare.
Lastly, a bit of advice for successful Alteril usage: It acts quickly within the first 30 minutes but if you are engaged in something exciting (like video games, for example) and fight through the initial drowsiness, it will not keep making you drowsy so you've just 'wasted' a pill. Wait until you are actually ready to go to sleep before taking it to get the maximum benefit.

Very reluctant to try these, but they worked well for me! I've had insomnia throughout my life and have been on various medications. I've never come across an over the counter sleep aid that worked, they'd always make me feel weird and jittery, but alteril was a nice surprise. I only have one complaint, i had to down 4 at a time in order for them to take affect, so i went through the box pretty fast. Other than that they're a good investment, very dependable, no side effects, wake up refreshed. I definately recommend them.Product Review: Neither box contained any sleep kit!!

Falsely advertised sleep kits would be sent with the 60-count size... NOT!! There is no need to order the bigger size, no sleep kit came with either of my 2 kits that I ordered! VERY DISAPPOINTED.... :(Product Review: Not Helpful For Me

I tried Alteril, and it was not that helpful. However, it was worse than not helpful. It caused painful GI problems, and gave me a the super-drowsy feeling in the morning. I had taken it at 8:30PM and gone to bed at 9:30PM. It gave me severe stomach pain and hyper-acidity. Severe burning. Not an experience I want to repeat. It woke me up and kept me up. I won't be taking it again.Product Review: Poison!

This product does not work for me at all, it kept me awake, and I had horrible GI problems (diarreha, nausea), and woke up with a horrible hangover-ish feeling. I have taken Melatonin with some success, and wanted to take myself off of Trazadone.
Try something else, and DO NOT go through the actual company. They will rip you off.
