Product Review: IBS and weight loss

I love this product. I've been taking it off and on since it was prescription only. I have the constipation end of IBS and this product is so much better than anything I have taken. I have no insurance so it is nice to know I have access to something that works without a prescription. The only drawback for me is that I need to know where the bathroom is about an hour after taking but that's okay - it's worth it!Product Review: If you follow the directions, it works!

Yes, I know all about the "nasty" effects. I tried this product back when it was Xenical and was twice the mgs. Lets just say the side effects back then were *explosive* but the weight loss was amazing. I stopped using it because I switched jobs and could no longer be close to a restroom at all times if needed.
I have now begun using alli and I have to tell you, even though the dosage has dropped to 60mg--it still does its job. It is in no way magical-you still need to exercise. I don't do a gut busting work out but I do take brisk walks for at least 30 minutes at night. 12 lbs lost the 1st 2 weeks.
Results are I'm sure based on the individual but if you follow the directions and not assume you can still shove pizza and other greasy foods into your body without a disaster looming - this is not for you.
It takes awhile to realize the schedule that your body is on to eliminate the waste from this product. I used a calendar and wrote down times I ate, times I had to, you know...and then kept myself on basically the same eating schedule. This resulted in basically the same time when I had to, you know....
The "you know" I think is the greatest fear that people have about alli.
You just need to commit to the directions, keep a log of eating, etc and you should be okay in my opinion.

I agree with the reviews that say this isn't a magic pill. But it sure does help. I've been on alli for 6 weeks now and have lost 11 pounds. And I'm not that much of an exerciser.
The first 4 weeks, I lost 10 pounds which I never would have done on WW or other diets. The thing is that I hate to follow diets. So I basically just made sure the fat contents were low on meals I ate + did my best not to eat empty carbs like pretzels, large helping of pasta, rice.
The next 2 weeks I still watched my portions but got a little lazy from time to time on the fat contents. (Not asking for dressing on the side, made a chicken pie with puff pastry, had a Sunday roast lamb with gravy) I still lost 1 pound but felt those nasty side effects! No where near as grim as some have reported but that yucky orange-y stuff is real! A bit of a rude awakening reminder about what you're eating.
All in all I think it works. But only if you watch what you eat as well. My weight loss sounds a bit slower than some but I'm happy with it considering I'm working consciously but not all that hard at it. The starter kit is handy with all the literature and the blue shuttle thing is great to load up and throw in your purse so you always have a pill on hand. The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is because it doesn't do the work for you! lol

I was not extremely overweight, but I had 15-20 "vanity" pounds that just werent budging. I run 5x a week and also work with a personal trainer and weight train 3x per week. After the first 2 mths of training and the initial weightloss, I hit a platau. Ali helped push past that and now I lost more weight than I imagined I could and Im actually back in my size 3s! And I feel GREAT! Ali FORCES me to think about my food choices. I eat out alot so I was consuming tons of hidden fat and calories. Now, before we go to a resturant, I research the menu and find the healthiest choice. And I pass on the high fat items. I really would recommend this product for people who lack self control when it comes to eating.Product Review: Not happy at all. Total waste of money!

I bought Alli based on the positive reviews on this site. Granted I have within normal weight range and due to holiday bingeing, need to lose maybe 5 pounds. I live in Asia and had to wait 2 weeks for ALLI to arrive from the US. Couldn't wait to tear open the package. I took 3 per day, as per instruction, and had to wait more than a week before I experience any gas. To date, it's been close to 1 month and I still have not experienced the "oily stools or embarrassing bath room runs". I do keep a very low fat diet but still I am sure there is some fat in what I eat!
I don't know why I am so resistant to ALLI but nothing, zilch effect!
