Product Review: Alli and Galbladder disease

I took this product for about 6 months. The first 10 pounds fell off with no effort but this was also when the side-effects were at their worst. If you're as shallow as I am, bloating and cramping with immediate, oily stools are worth going through to loose weight and look better. I was thrilled with the dramatic results I was seeing and other people were noticing as well.
After the first 10 pounds, the weight loss slowed but the side effects were also decreasing to almost non-existent. The above mentioned side-effects anyways. About 4 months ago, I had lost a total of 25 pounds and feeling much better about myself. Then, I started to get stabbing pain in the middle of the night in the upper part of my stomach, right below the ribcage. The pain would come after a late, fatty meal. Sometimes I would vomit, sometimes not. Sometimes the pain would last for hours, leaving me with nothing to do but wait until it passed. It got to the point that I couldn't eat anything without ending up in agonizing pain. I stopped taking Alli after my first few attacks, wondering if that had anything to do with it. But they continued. The final straw was one particular stomach ache that lasted for 12+ hours. I went to the ER and they found many small galstones. I was embarrased of my use of Alli so I did not disclose this to the doctors there. I figured I stopped taking it months ago anyways. Did Alli lead to the formation of my glastones? Possibly, among other things I'm sure. Galbladder disease also runs in my family so I figure I would have gotten it anyways.
I have since had my galbladder removed and have been a sucessful patient of the surgery. I have no more side-effects, no discomfort, and have tested it out on plenty of crap that any normal person should stay away from and have no complications. I am almost intrigued about how Alli would work with my system now. I wasn't having many side-effects toward the end of my cycle with Alli, so would the side-effects resurface or stay minimalized? I gave Alli four stars because it definitely worked for me and because, in my case, I believe I would have gotten galbladder disease eventually anyways. I do not place blame on the weight loss pill.

Alli is a good product in that it helps in digesting foods with too much fat in them.... or rather passing them through your system. However, having taken Xenical in the past, Alli is not as strong and is a bit more pricey. Because it is a weaker substance, it is probably safe for anyone to take. No matter what medication a person takes to aid in weight loss, exercise and diet are still a must. There is no magic cure for overeating. Xenical was prescribed by my physician and I did use it for some time. Since moving across country, I have not taken it any more. I do sometimes need a boost to help in losing weight. However, I probably will not purchase Alli again because of the cost.

Alli is difficult to find in stores in large refill bottles. Amazon is the easiest to order them at a reduced price and with free shipping. The shipping said up to 14 days, but I recieved it in 5 days. I'll be getting my Alli here in the future.

This stuff actually made me gain weight. I don't have a fatty diet to begin with..and this stuff just was not worth putting all the chemicals in your body. Took for over 2 weeks. I got totally constipated from it..had to clean my system out and was really blocked up.

Wait until another over the counter drug comes around. This stuff has the potential to cause real harm if it is causing all that bacteria to be held in your colon.
