Product Review: My OTHER foot healed, but not the one in the splint!

I've been using the A-Force Dorsal Night Splint on my right foot every night since Christmas (11 weeks ago) for a case of acute plantar fasciitis that I've had for over a year and a half. There's been no improvement in the foot I wear the splint on. However, my other foot is as good as new! (And yes, I stretch, wear podiatrist recommended inserts, and follow general treatment regimen my podiatrist suggests).
One problem with the splint seems to be that it's way too loose to fit my foot, even when tightened to the max, though my foot (women's size 7) falls exactly in the middle of the size range for the small brace (which is supposed to fit women's size 5-9). Additionally, the splint holds the foot in a very relaxed position--I wake up with pointed ballerina toes some mornings, which is sure not to help with healing and is something I'd expect a splint like this to prevent!
My guess is if this product "works" for someone, it is pure coincidence. After all, if I'd worn the splint on my left foot instead of my right foot, I'd have thought it worked great, since my left foot healed while my right foot didn't. (How ironic that the foot that is as bad as ever is the one in the splint!)
All in all, most people who would try a splint like this have probably been doing their plantar fascia exercises, stretching, icing, wearing inserts, etc, just like their podiatrist has told them to. I suspect that if someone's foot heals while they're wearing this splint, it's probably the exercises, stretches, ice and inserts that deserve the credit, not the splint!
I'd say, save your money, forget about this splint!

At first I thought it was helping , but then it's not.. Just try to stretch the calves manually every morning instead of buying this one.

I have been wearing this split at night for about 2 weeks. There was less PF morning pain even after the first night. I think my foot is healing, because I generally have less pain during the day as well. It's easy to sleep in and you can easily walk in it if you have to. I wear a sock with it to keep it clean. I wear a women's size 9, and it's a perfect fit. It does let your foot move somewhat, but the foot mostly will stay at a right angle, so I think that might be impotant in the PF healing process. I have had PF for 6 mos., and I wish I had bought this sooner. Very fast shipping from supplier, only took a couple of days. I read the reviews and was enthused ... even hopeful, but I had my doubts. No more. When I wear this at night, I wake up in the morning with no foot pain. Before, it felt like I had knives stabbing the bottoms of my feet and I limped all day long from the heel pain. That's a thing of the past. Ten years ago I had plantar fasciitis and it took about 2 years to get over it. During that time I saw a podiatrist who gave me a traditional splint that fits on the bottom of the foot, heal and back of leg. It stretched me well, but you couldn't walk in it and every night I'd wake up at 3 am and rip it off because my foot was numb. In other words, it was horrible. When my fasciitis returned recently I got this dorsal type. This one is so much more comfortable, you can walk around in it. Stairs are a bit tricky but manageable. And I never need to take it off during the night. My only complain would be that the amount it stretches your foot isn't adjustable. I'd like a bit more stretch. Your foot also has some freedom to relax because you can't get a perfectly tight fit (unless you want to strangle your leg). I'm not sure how to design it better, but it's something for the manufacturer to think about.
