This tester has worked OK for me. I don't use it very often, but at the beginning I did some tests, and the values were according to what it should be for the alcohol consumption I had and my weight. Subsequent reads are very close to each other.Product Review: Deffective

I purchased this device which never gave an alcohol reading, only error messages. I exchanged it for a replacement and that device gave a sensor error or would shut off during the waiting period. I bought one of these to use as an aid to know when I can safely drive after having a few drinks at the bar. Of course before using it I wanted to test it at home several times to see if it provided consistent measurements. What I've found is that it is not accurate. I drank one glass of wine...waited 30 mins and tested. It came up as .066. This seemed high but I thought maybe it was right. A couple days later I drank the same amount of wine...waited 30 mins and tested again. It read .040. I began to wonder. Then this evening I had one more glass of wine and it tested me at .019. I haven't been drinking in between so I know there is no tolerance.
I can't recommend this item to anyone. When it arrived it seemed very cheaply made...like a generic product from China...which it apparently is. The fact that it doesn't work well tops it off.

I tested this unit at home both in the morning after no alcohol to prove it showed nothing and then at night after having 2 glasses of wine and it worked great! It is easy to use. I did have to replace the batteries it came with with new ones which is to be expected with any electronic purchase that comes with batteries. They always come with cheap batteries. I would recommend this unit. I bought it to keep at home for when my teenager comes home. In case I need to prove/disprove alcohol usage.
