Product Review: Lives up to the claim "Cold Remedy"

I remember the feeling of certain doom when my throat would get just scratchy enough that I knew I'd be down for a week. And I knew I was 90% there when I heard enough coughing in class or in the office.
Now I take airborne, only when I have reason to (travel, sick family member, onset of symptoms), and it really does work. I can survive a long plane flight into a New England winter, concluding with an hour long taxi journey, with a driver experiencing significant and contagious respiratory distress -- and walk away healthy. I've sometimes been unable to get more Airborne until having come down with a cold, and it still mitigates the severity and duration of the symptoms.
I find it most effective in combination with Zicam products (the gel in particular). The instructions say to dissolve Airborne in water; I prefer it dissolved in apple juice.
I still believe that stress is a dominant risk factor regarding colds (with sleep, diet, and climate close behind), and you can't choose not to give your body the rest it demands because you can take Airborne. However, when you are doing the best you can, Airborne does seem to really make the difference between catching a bad cold and just needing to take it easy for a day.

Airborne was recommended to me by my sister. She and her husband have used it many times and had very good results. Unfortunantly, some of us have an unpleasant reaction to the formula. Both myself and another sister's husband have gotten sick from this tablet. We both experienced nausea and diarrhea very soon after taking the tablet. I had to miss a night class and lost 5 1/2 lbs. the night I took this. It also sent my brother-in law straight to bed. I think it did help a little with the cold, but because I couldn't take more tablets the cold came on anyway. I take many supplements and my guess is one or more of the herbs may cause this reaction in some people.Product Review: Made no difference whatsoever

I took these tablets for more than 6 months as I have persistent cold during winter months but, it made no difference. Would have spent atleast $100.00 on this. I tried exprimenting how long my cold lasts with and without airborne. Everytime, it took the same amount of time doesnt matter whether I took airborne or not. At best, it is a very expensive effervescent drink.
Also, be careful with the vitamin C dosage you are getting (one tablet contains more than 1600% of your recommended daily value) and most probably you are taking more than one tablet as recommended by the manufacturer. Such high dosage may result in diarrhea and kidney stones. You can read its effect by simply doing a "goole" search on side-effects of taking high dosage of vitamin C.
Better to be safe than sorry and BTW, it is not cheap either.

I've seen a few posts that wonder about the true medical powers of Airborne. All I can say, it works for me. There have been several times when I've felt run down, or that wierd, I can feel a cold coming on in the back of my throat feeling. I've taken a few Airborne over the day, though, and I don't get sick.
A few people have mentioned the taste, I think it tastes fine, kind of like Tang mixed with alka Seltzer maybe?
Bottom line, what have you got to lose? Compared to a lot of other things out there, all of the ingredients seem relatively safe for the small doses you're taken here, so why not try it?
