my husband had a large skin breakdown at the tailbone and had surgery to close it and after recovering came home but I was worried about wetness irratating the skin again but these pads kept moisture from skin as well as are very duriable. I was able to use pad to slide my husband up in bed without tearing the pad. Only downside is that wetness seeps through because the nonwoven backing but well worth it to keep the skin dry and healthy.
