I had a Littman stethoscope for more than 20 years but had to replace it when the tubing became stiff and inflexible. I purchased a Littman Cardiology III and was very dissatisfied with the feel of the earpieces in my ears. Fortunately, I lost it about a year after purchasing it, so I was at a quandry at which stethoscope to buy next. As an NP student, I needed quality without a huge pricetag. I believe I have found that in the ADC Adscope 601. I received as advertised a brand new scope in the mail well packaged and protected. It has a very solid feel without being heavy. To test it, I placed it on my palm and gently touched the back of my hand and I could hear clearly the light contact through my stethoscope! Best yet, I can reposition the earpieces if I need to, just like one of the other more expensive brands. According to ADC, there are 2 springs in theirs allowing some repositioning by the wearer. Though I didn't need to make any adjustments, I am glad I can. So far, I am very pleased with the look, feel, and quality of my new stethoscope--especially when one considers the difference in cost from the other two.
