Product Review: Luminous Tranquility

I love this lamp. As previous reviews have stated, it gives off a calming, natural glow. My lamp feels heavier than described, but I'm certainly not complaining. The base is a nice, high-quality wood, and the cord has plenty of length to it (though not so much that it gets in the way).
The only downside is that when it was shipped, the light bulb was left rolling around inside the rock. Naturally, the bulb was cracked, thus needing a replacement. So my advice is to have a bulb ready, as I suspect others have had this same problem. Even though the bulb was broken, the salt rock itself was unharmed, packaged in bubble wrap inside the manufacturer's box that was inside a USPS shipping box.
Many other companies are selling similar products for 10-20 dollars more. This high-quality lamp is a steal--for the aesthetic value, healing power, and conversation starter.

This item came in a unpresentable state. I wouldn't display it anywhere in my home due to its dirty and dingy color and quality. The power cord it came with was smashed to pieces and unusable. I've seen similar lamps from other sellers in much better condition. Check out another source if you want a quality salt lamp. VERY disappointingProduct Review: Poor Quality Control

The lamp arrived with the bulb smashed inside so I had to shake all the broken pieces out of the packing. The cord was also broken with the switch in 4 loose pieces. They had wrapped the cord in bubble wrap so I'm thinking it went out broken. Bad Karma for the store sending out broken Feng Shui lamps :-)
I have to go and buy a new cord and bulb before I can enjoy the lamp.

I cannot attest to whether all the benefits claimed for this lamp are true, but I can tell you that I love this lamp. I have it on my bureau. I turn it on when I first get up and I turn it off when I go to bed. It runs all day long in my bedroom. Whenever I look at it, I feel soothed. It's beautiful. It doesn't get hot and it gives off a gentle light that reminds me of candlelight (although steadier). I ordered 3 and gave two away as gifts. The new owners also love them. I ordered a salt lamp from Alive and Aware and it is everything I wanted. It arrived on time in Perfect condition. I recieved prompt email from the seller and the deal went off without a hitch. If there were indeed problems with them in the past, they have been addressed. This is a good seller and a great product. I had a better experience with Alive and Aware then I did with another un-named compay. I love my lamp and if you are considering purchaseing one, this is a good play. Great Service!!!!!
