Customer Review: Best stethoscope for the price, attractive color

This is probably the most commonly used stethoscope today by healthcare professionals and for good reason-- excellent acoustic quality combined with a reasonable price. This model uses Littmann's patented tunable diaphragm: the bell function and diaphragm function are combined into one piece, so there's no flipping the chestpiece over. Hold the chestpiece lightly against the chest to appreciate low tones and press more firmly to filter out the low tones and appreciate the higher tones. Littmann rates the acoutstic quality as 8 out of 10, bested only by the "Cardiology" stethoscope series, which rate 9 or 10 out of 10 and retail for almost twice the cost of a Master Classic II. This is suited for diagnosis and physical assessment. The much inferior Classic II SE rates a 7/10 in acoustic quality and is not much cheaper than the Master Classic II. If you only need one to check blood pressure than this is probably more stethoscope than you need. But, if you are a current/future doctor or allied health professional you can't go wrong with this one.
And on a lighter note-- the burgundy color is a nice distinctive change from the ubiquitous black that is out there. I have a much easier time identifying which is my stethoscope.
