Customer Review: A challenging fly swatter maybe?

The good part is that it's sturdy. If you want to rub something with it, you could pretty hard without it breaking, I'm sure. Some of its bamboo competitors had the complaint that they weren't sanded well enough, so people got splinters. That's not the case with these, but I almost wish it were, because at least those sound like they'd scratch something. This unit is useless for back scratching. I mean... USELESS! Its little "claws" (nothing but a curved piece of wood) are perfectly dull and rounded. Nothing about them would "scratch" anything. You know what works great? Don't laugh, but buy a brand new plastic bristled toilet bowl brush and leave the tag on it so you can write "DO NOT USE FOR TOILETS!" on it. Keep it in a drawer where personal care items are, and where no cleaning supplies (especially funky ones) would ever be kept. Best back scratcher in the world. Of course it's too bulky to slip it under a shirt, you sort of have to peel the shirt up to your neck for the process (and get bound up in your sleeves just as often as not) but it works. Second to that? A plastic pasta claw, but test it out on your hand in the store, some of them are super sharp (not good) and some of them are ridiculously dull (not good). I'm thinking it might work if I get some sandpaper or a good file and really go to town on this bamboo unit before sending it back or tossing it, but as is, count my vote in one word -- Useless. No two: Totally useless. Back scratching is serious business, so some company making this thing and calling it a back scratcher is terrible. I had such high hopes. Guess I better get on Match.com or something, because not finding a back scratcher that actually works and doesn't have to be fed or humored... it's beginning to look like it's just not out there anywhere. (Sobbing tragically.)

These Bamboo back scratchers are cut from mature bamboo, and are very strong and sturdy. The handle is a comfortable hand filling 1 1/2" wide, not a skinny stick like you'll find on other back scratchers. The handles are stiff, so the back scratcher won't bend away from your back when you're trying to scratch hard. Each is hand made, no two are identical. Bamboo is a fantastic material. Not only is it strong and durable, but since it is technically a type of grass, it is also very easy to grow and harvest in an environmentally responsible manner.
